From our kitchen
Three familiar dishes that let aroma, separation and texture take centre stage.

Fragrant basmati cooked with spinach, sweetcorn, whole spices and a bright finish of lemon.

Cumin-scented rice layered with seasoned chicken, tomato, fresh herbs and warming spices.

Fluffy saffron rice with spiced chicken, fried onion, almonds, cashews and raisins.

Rice guide
Simple explanations of popular rice varieties and processing methods.
Ask us somethingAromatic rice is a group of rice varieties recognised for a naturally distinctive, nutty fragrance and flavour.
Basmati is an aromatic rice traditionally grown in Pakistan and India. Its grains lengthen rather than widen during cooking.
Sela is parboiled rice. Steam treatment before milling helps the grain remain firm, separate and resilient after cooking.
Brown rice has its outer hull removed while retaining the bran layer, giving it a nuttier taste and chewier texture.
Also called sticky or sweet rice, it contains a high proportion of amylopectin starch and clings together when cooked.
Jasmine is a fragrant long-grain variety associated with Thailand. It cooks softer and slightly more moist than Basmati.
